  the wts has said that disfellowshipping offenses in the congregation equal the ones that resulted in execution in the nation of israel.. "insight on the scriptures" vol.

  1, page 787 - heading expelling - under the mosaic law.

  "expelling - judicial excommunication, or disfellowshipping...analogous to the powers of capital punishment (death)...during jesus' earthly ministry the synagogues served as courts.

  i didn't want to hijack highdose's thread because i apparently went off on a rant when attempting to simply comment, so i thought i'd start my own thread.

  this has been something that has just recently become more apparent in my thinking and bugs the crap outta me!:.

  if it is a universal fact that god exists and can read people's hearts.....then why is there the statement that only jw's and those "ignorant" of jw teachings will live?.

  can we calculate the length of this generation?.

  the word generation usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

  As a JW we say we have the "truth" we are in the "truth". On this site I've read truth. Truth about how people feel about the "truth" I don't think the name is a lie. After all you are a JW I assume and are talking to me and others some who may be disfellowshipped. Once having learnt the truth about something especially about the "truth" it should cause one to act in an appropriate manner.

  The reasons I am here for about 5 days now since I was BANNED the first day I was here but somehow got back in are: 1. Trying to find out why there is so much hate for the org here. 2. If you hate it so much, then leave. I do NOT take the excuse of hanging in there for family members. That is a copout from weak people. 3. If you hate it so much and have left for over 20 years now...WHY in the heck do ones keep talking about it? Makes NO sense to me.

  I'm not really good at explaining things but the pure worship is rendered only because of Christ which we have as being in the new covenant. That's how I see it. Not because of a church.
